The NFL is dropping the annual Pro Bowl event after 75 years. The league is pulling the plug on the on-field contest, but top athletes will still be honored. Players will continue to be named as Pro Bowlers to receive their annual honors.
Player honors will stay in place despite the elimination of the match. However, alternate players will no longer be selected by the league. The ruling brings an end to the 75 year history of the annual game, but top players will still receive their official Pro Bowl accolades each year.
