A 22-year-old passenger died on Loop 1604 in San Antonio after a driver believed to have been drunk behind the wheel struck a pillar. San Antonio police responded to the North Side collision and found the driver showing signs of intoxication.

In a separate incident, an employee at a BBQ restaurant was attacked with a knife in the arm and chest in what police called a random attack near the front of the restaurant. The employee is in recovery after the assault.
