More than half of members in the Australian Education Union’s Victoria branch voted against the government’s newest pay deal, prompting public school teachers to walk out.

The AEU said they would pull back work after results showed 51 percent rejected the revised offer.

The strike has been confirmed and scheduled to move forward without fresh talks planned at this stage.
